Property worth millions of Kwacha at Kasungu market has been destroyed as fire reduced the shops to mere smouldering rubble.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
The incident follows another recently where Lilongwe Area 18 market, Tsoka Flea Market and Mzuzu market were also destroyed.
President Peter Peter Mutharika instituted a ministerial committee to look into the occurrences and come up with lasting solutions to the problem.
