After her own plea, the court convicted Ndovi on charges of money laundering which attracts a maximum sentence of 10 years and lending a business certificate for personification which attracts a sentence of three years.
She surrendered her Toyota Hilux valued at K15 million as her restitution from the cashgate proceeds.
Her lawyer Gilbert Khonyongwa asked for court not to impose custodial sentence to Ndovi because she had not wasted court’s time by pleading guilty and her restitution.
The lawyer also argued that Ndovie has a medical ailment which would prevent her from withstanding prison conditions.
Passing the sentence Monday afternoon, Senior Resident Magistrate Patrick Chirwas gave Ndovie 30 months imprisonment for money laundering and lending a certificate for personification (9 months).
